EL 42 Binoculars
The Swarovski EL binoculars have set the standard as the finest binoculars made for several years. It's hard to imagine they could be improved on but for 2010 that is exactly what Swarovski has done with the new EL 42 Swarovision binoculars, a makeover of the original EL's.
There are three main areas of improvement in the EL 42 binoculars. The first is a new lens, the "field flattener", which produce a nearly flat image which allows a sharpness of detail all the way to the edge of the image, the first time this has been acheived in any binoculars.
The second improvement is in the focusing mechanism. A new wheel with a combination of hard and soft components gives stability of adjustment and grip so it can be operated even with gloves.
The final improvement is new three position eye cups, a close position for use with eyeglasses, a long position for use without eyeglasses, and an intermediate stage for people that may need it.
